The research includes identification of the analysis target and challenges, proper mathematical modeling, effective interpretation of the computed results, and the extraction of valuable engineering information and data. We focus not only on the fluid mechanics aspects of the problem, but also on innovating the methods needed to address the computational challenges faced.<\/p>\n<p>The research is co-supervised by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tafsm.org\/~tezduyar\/\">Professor Tayfun Tezduyar<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mech.rice.edu\/users\/tezduyar\">Rice University<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sgu-mathphys.sci.waseda.ac.jp\/en\/\">joint appointment at Waseda University<\/a>, and <a href=\"\/members\/kenji-takizawa\">Professor Kenji Takizawa<\/a>, Waseda University. We especially encourage students who are considering to pursue a PhD degree focusing on computational engineering analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Examples of the research topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ol>\u25cf Parachutes and other aerospace problems<\/ol>\n<ol>\u25cf Cardiovascular and other biomechanics problems<\/ol>\n<ol>\u25cf Turbocharges and other automotive industry related problems<\/ol>\n<ol>\u25cf Wind turbines and other energy-related problems<\/ol>\n<ol>\u25cf Bioinspired flapping-wing aerodynamics<\/ol>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/fsci\/en\/admissions_gs\/\">graduate studies<\/a> can be in Japanese or English, and we welcome students in both tracks.
